Sounds of Winter Thawing

As ice and sleet shut down the city of Austin for several weeks in a row, people huddled inside of homes, children rejoiced in breaks from no school and city workers raced to winterize roads.  How well we embrace our down time and the opportunities to be idle relates to our ability to be mindful of our internal world and simply listen for the sound of that quiet trickle of life that always prevails no matter the season.

    Huddling together in front of a fire was fun as we watched the ice and spoonful of snow. Magic.
